September: Back to routine and Falling into change

September 16, 2014

Hello Everyone! Hope this finds you settled back into the September groove with a fresh summer glow on your faces. This past summer has been a very busy one. I have been working on new projects that I can’t wait to share with all of you once they are set into full motion. I have been involved in a number of charities. Namely Same Sky I co-hosted a wonderful event for with a dear friend of mine Franice LeFrak at her beautiful Hampton home.

Speaking of good causes. I’m sure many of you saw my ice-bucket challenge. As I said in the video, I would gladly ruin a fresh blowout for charity lol. It was so inspiring to see so many people across the world unite in an effort to raise awareness for ALS. It just goes to show that it takes one idea from a single person to start a great movement and achieve great things. Pat Quinn is the young man, who is suffering from ALS and started this Ice-Bucket challenge in an effort to raise awareness and money for research in hopes of one day finding a cure. I wish him and everyone stricken by this terrible disease blessings and strength to fight the good fight. QuinnfortheWin is the name of his charity. If you feel so inclined to donate I’m sure it would be greatly appreciated. Check out the link below to see my video, I got #1 for best scream on buzzfeed.com!

I spent my summer weekends in the Hamptons with family and friends. It was a great summer that like most seem to fly by after the Fourth of July.  My priority, of course was soaking up as much time with Avery before she headed back to school.  Avery had made a decision to transfer to the University of Virginia from Emory. While she did like Emory and cherishes the experiences she had there and the friends she made, she thought a bigger University with a very accredited business school would better suit her interests and long term goals. UVA also offered the option for a dual-major and Emory did not. I can’t even begin to tell you how proud of the young woman she is blossoming into. Shopping for school, taking the train down to Virginia together and setting up her apartment are special moments that I will hold with me forever. I’m looking forward to seeing her in a few weeks for UVAs homecoming festivities.

We are all settling back into our fall routine and I am so excited to see what the upcoming year brings. I appreciate all the love and support from my fans, as I have experienced a much publicized change in my personal life. I look forward to navigating my way and sharing this new journey with all of you. Like the autumn leaves sometimes we show are greatest colors during change. I wish you all a great fall season and positive changes to come. Till next time =)

Ramona, I was so distressed to hear about your personal challenges on TV. I love you so much and I think Mario will regret his choices. I was behind you all the way in the reunion show. I say shame on LuAnn, if she was so hurt by some things you said about her divorce, you would think she would not want to hurt you; she made a fool of herself. You are a darling woman with a good heart. Looking forward to seeing you on Housewives of New York.
